EDC provided mechanical and electrical design for an upgrade of the Unalaska wastewater plant and upgrades of the existing influent pump station. The expanded plant included Chemically Enhanced Primary Treatment and sludge dewatering. EDC designed HVAC and plumbing upgrades to the existing wastewater plant building and designed the HVAC and plumbing systems for a new treatment process building to include ventilation systems designed to mitigate potential explosive atmosphere in the new treatment building. The design included snowmelt systems for entryways to enhance personnel safety. EDC’s Electrical design included power, lighting and controls for operation of the upgraded plant. EDC provided observation services during construction as well.
