EDC provided electrical and mechanical engineering for a remote, modularized hybrid generation system with a primary source photovoltaic (PV) array, battery bank and backup propane-fired generators. The facility was managed by a local RTU and SCADA system to monitor the battery/inverter package and start the generator when the solar and wind sources did not supply sufficient charge to the battery bank. The SCADA system communicated via microwave to the headquarters facility, transmitting battery status, fuel levels, cycle time, etc.
